About Me

As a student at the University of Washington I need something to fill my grievously long and boring days.  Over the years I’ve become somewhat of a closet gymnastics fan, so I decided to start writing stories about gymnasts I love or annoy me.

My interest in gymnastics started when I was about 3 and running all over the house, and I was sure I loved the sport after I saw the Atlanta Olympics.  I did gymnastics for quite some time, but after growing 6 feet tall it became the logical solution to stop.

I don’t claim to be an expert on the topic because I know I’m not, and I know I’m biased.  I especially love Soviet, Russian, Ukrainian, and Romanian gymnastics.  I say what I say it because, hell it’s MY blog, and I can say whatever I damn well please.  So enjoy if you like it, leave if you don’t.

Bogi Love!

Lena

    Hi –

I wonder if my site inspired you – there are lots of similarities. I would be flattered if it did. If it didn’t, either way, I think you have a cool site and a good wit.

Thanks. I hope you don’t feel like I’ve copied you too much. I’ve read your site and I really like it! You’re a great writer.

        Hi, Lena,

Well, I’m not highly concerned and am actually flattered that you like my silly site. I do put a lot of work into it, so all I would ask is don’t post literally duplicated content.

If you write something that’s like a continuation of some idea I had, you could link to my site, to the place the idea came from. I do that with GymTruthTeller sometimes, just to give her a nod.

I hope you have fun and get a lot of good response with everything you do.

        Sarah!

    Hi, Lena,

I have a friend who is trying to find out if Yang Yilin is going to be – or is expected to be – competing in London. I have no idea. Do you know anything? This girl is really serious about finding out because she wants to fly out there to watch the Games if Yang is going to be there. Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks much.

    Sarah!

Well, to be honest, I’m not sure exactly what her chances are. I do know that she competed at the last world championships. She is not the same gymnast that she was in 2008. The Chinese team still seems to be a mystery at this point. They have two new stars coming up (Tan Sixin, Yao Jinnan), plus Jiang Yuyuan, Huang Quishang, Deng Linlin, He Kexin, and a possible comeback by Cheng Fei. Right now, in a 5-3-3 (how stupid is that?) format, I wouldn’t bet on her making it, but she’s not completely out of it. I’d guess that she’d have to get back to her “old self” though with the new talent. I’m probably not the best to ask though, as I’m not all that well informed on the Chinese right now (or ever for that matter). Sorry, hopefully that helps some.

It does help – thank you. I will pass it on to my friend.

I will kill you for bringing such disgrace to some gymnasts

dont ever try to come to antartica cause I will find you…..

I’m sorry you think I have disgraced some gymnasts. In all honesty, I admire all gymnasts for their hard work. Don’t worry, I don’t plan on coming to Antartica. Although I doubt that you would be there, considering that most of the people there are highly trained researchers, which I’m willing to bet care very little about gymnastics or at least what I have to say about certain gymnasts.

    wow, you’re really pretty!
Also, tall girls (men too I guess) can still do gymnastics. Look at nastia L. And Svetlana K. But I do agree that its harder the taller you are. Anyways, nice blog. Its has taught me much you don’t normaly hear about through other gymnastics channels.

Haha if you’re referring to the picture of Svetlana Boginskaya, she is very pretty! I look more like Sandra Izbasa, if you’re into that… But yeah, tall girls can do gymnastics, but I’ve never met an elite gymnast my height. I wish I could find one. I love all the tall gymnasts though, like Khorkina and Izbasa.
